About James
James has been in the human services field for the past 18 years. He started volunteering with at-risk youth in 2000. In 2005, he began teaching special needs children. In 2007, he began teaching at-risk high schoolers, and in 2012, he returned to school to obtain his Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He is currently a Licensed Addictions Counselor, Registered Psychotherapist, and National Certified Counselor.
James has been counseling professionally since 2014, primarily in the criminal justice system, working with medium custody inmates with both addictions issues and severe mental health disorders. With this population, he has enjoyed working to develop rapport and a strong therapeutic alliance with his clients. Because of his extensive successful experiences with this typically challenging population, he is confident in his ability to help you, too!
